Writing Tip - Read to Write
Freelancing for 20 years, I am still learning. When I took a full-time job 9 years ago I had to release my writing venue. I used the opportunity to climb to the next level. Up to that point, I had focused on journalism, but now I could write books. To shift my focus and prepare, I read 10 classic books. Charles Dickens was my favorite because of his writing style and ability to connect.
Last week a friend sent me a link to writing advice from C.S. Lewis and a writing tip he offered was to read the work of the masters. Great writing minds think alike! Dig in and you will learn from the best.
