Happy Ending? Your ending.
When I was leading a team of Christian writers, I was always looking for creative ways to spark their creativity. With that in mind, I was watching a movie and was frustrated when I got to the end and it sucked. Well, in my opinion it sucked. At that moment, I wished I had written the story.
Then, it hit me. What a great writing exercise that would be! Next meeting, we pushed up to the table, pushed our pens to our papers, and rewrote endings to any story we wanted. Instead of judging other people's work, we learned to stir up our own creativity. In fact, one day we wrote the end to our own stories. We picked a struggle we were facing in our lives and wrote our own ending. We all walked away feeling empowered, hopeful, and we respected the gift within us. We learned to write away our pain.
