Blinded by Purity
Well, I'm back to living in a geographical location with temperatures cold enough and conditions right enough for snow. I've been avoiding that for about 30 years! But just like that, I changed. I rolled open the blinds this morning and saw the frail flakes falling. That was all it took. I grabbed my writing Chromebook and placed myself facing the french doors so I could watch.
It is a pretty and inspirational sight, for sure. Something about the purity of it. How it covers all the daily yuck. The unkempt yard, the neighbor's kid's bikes, trash, and toys strung all over. Like magic, it sprinkles out of the sky and makes the ugly go away. And all things are made new.
I really see it as a do-over. It puts a new spin on old junk. Right? I mean, you see the same old thing day in, day out then one day add on a layer of white and, voila! Purity. A positive change.
I wouldn't call myself poetic today but man am I feeling it! This snow is inspiring. I think it's a good day to get crackin' on my story. My son helped me scoop out a motivation for my protagonist as we watched snow stream down on the other side of the window above the kitchen sink. Maybe we were both hit with the beauty of natural inspiration.
Here's to you finding the inspiration to pursue your passions today!
