Bluebird Cafe

Last night was extraordinary. I've dreamed of visiting The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville for two decades. The name even appeared in one of my short stories years ago. It was everything and nothing I thought it would be.

Talented songwriter after songwriter took that stage and showcased their original work. People had come from all over the world to visit. It was really special. Food wasn't bad either, lol, loved their fries!

What I wasn't expecting was my young, talented son to want to jump on the stage amongst these heavy hitters! He wasn't nervous or afraid at all. Oppositely, he was ready to make his songwriting debut. In fact, tonight is open mic night and he will be calling in this morning to try to make the list of performers. God help me! It's nerve-wracking for a parent.

I so want him to succeed and am very proud of him. However, I don't want him to experience stage fright or a non-receptive audience and quit. All of my nerves will be going with him. At least he's passionate and charging like a bull...straight ahead. He's definitely not afraid of a fight. If he makes the list, there will be a follow up tomorrow. Stay tuned!
