Silver Lining

Change sucks. Whether you initiate it or it is thrust upon you. If you spurred the change then you're to blame if it goes sideways. At least in your own mind. Or maybe that's only in my mind. Oppositely, if the change is thrown on you you're stuck working your way through something you didn't ask for.

Both scenarios present challenges. And sadly, you get to a certain age and you become aware that change is the only thing you can count on.

It's necessary for growth though. Like my move. I wanted to try another area but once I made the move I realized that I was too old to start all over. Suddenly I'm happier in Florida. Growth!

If it was a forced start over like people who lost their jobs and homes following Hurricane Michael, then it would be a terrible suffering. But they had no choice. Unfortunately, they can blame that change on nature.

I guess no matter how one gets in the middle of it, it's what we do with it. Both scenarios can bring good growth in our life and cause us to flourish. Yeah. That's what I want, to search for that silver lining and grab hold with both hands.
