Day 2 of You Know Who
Good morning blog world! Yesterday was interesting. My son and his dad rode their motorcycles and searched for a house rental. That gave me hours to perform my "Cinderella chores" as my mom calls them. As the time ticked by, I was able to decorate my house for Fall and buy a vase for one of my orangish flower arrangements. I mindlessly strung orange lights across our built-in bookcase and
noncommittally watched a movie.
When they returned, we looked at more houses until we found one he really liked. We ate out to celebrate and stopped and got groceries. That was the most awkward part. Walking around the grocery store filling your cart like normal but asking your ex-husband what he wanted to eat. It seemed fair, though, since he was determined to pay.
He followed me but gave me very little guidance. I had to pull every detail out of him. It must be awkward for him too. Nineteen years later and your shopping for food with your ex-wife letting her lead since she's the cook.
All in all it was an easy day. He will move up near us and my son will have both parents to visit as he starts his first job as an EMT and pursues his songwriting dream. Never saw my life turning out like this, but hey, if he wants to support our son and cheer him on to the finish line, I'm all about it!
What would be even more weird, is if we all meet someone up here and start our lives over with new additions celebrating holidays together. Well, I say as long as we all are kind to each other, I'm in! This may be the blog to follow as all of our new lives unfold. I can't wait to see how it turns out myself :-)
