Is Your Burner On?
At work this morning, I sliced some sausage, put it in a skillet. I turned the dial to low and walked away to complete some other tasks. Back and forth I went from my computer to the stove. However, the sausage wasn't changing.
After the third check in, I finally realized the burner was off. I had turned the wrong one on. An easy mistake, for sure. Especially when it's not your regular stove. The one you cook on at home.
Believe it or not, as I pondered the stupidity of having the wrong burner fired up and ready to cook, I couldn't help but to relate it to me. Sometimes, I get so overwhelmed with too many tasks at once that I forget my overall goals.
Today, thanks to a wrong burner...I figured out my own future. Clarity, finally. I've been heating up the wrong burner. Focusing on the wrong things. But now I know exactly how I'm going to attack my future. I finally got the mental food on the right burner. If you're searching for answers I will tell you what a great friend and fellow writer told me, "Pray for direction. And wait."
