Light It Up!

Coming through the unlit hills of Tennessee this morning, I couldn't wait to get to the light. I have markers that I watch for every morning that alert me to how far I am into my journey. My first one is near a little fruit and veggie stand.

Directly behind the tented display, there is a small pond. The owner took the time to set up a Christmas tree made only of lights, dead center. Then, someone strung colored lights around the odd shaped pond. Every morning my 4-cylinder struggles up the first two hills out of town, I'm anticipating that sight to jump start my day.

Along the way from there, folks have small trees in shop windows and some houses are lined with lights. But the real eye treat is when I get into the city. As I snail crawl through the traffic the white, lit snowflakes begin to reveal themselves. Those are my favorite markers. They are a clear sign that my dark drive is nearing an end.

There's so much darkness in the world even the smallest light makes a difference. Look for the lights today (or tonight) and let them penetrate the darkness in your soul. Where there is light, there is hope.

Just let it in :-)
