Lights-Camera-Action
So it begins. This YouTube thing is fun. Have you ever used iMovie on your iPhone to make a short? Well, I have and it's a lot of fun. Same with Canva which is editing software that is mostly free for editing your video for YouTube.
To rewind a minute, first, I purchased a couple of tripods, one is a gooseneck so you can take shots looking down over you and it extends to 84". Comes with a remote and Bluetooth, to boot!
In that package, I also ordered a light for inside recording. Mind you, I bought the cheaper stuff to see if I'll actually do this and follow through on a regular basis ($49 total!). Odds are in my favor when I have ANY amount of money on the line :-)
Since my iPhone 14 takes decent video, I'm not purchasing a camera. Yet. So, the tripod and light accommodate mobile recordings. Yesterday, I downloaded the Canva app on my iPhone and uploaded the long videos. Then, I used the same sign in on my Chromebook and the videos were on the Canva app waiting for me. That way I don't have to worry about those cumbersome videos not forwarding from my iPhone.
Lastly, I viewed a 20-minute "how-to" video on using Canva but remarkably I nearly had it all figured out by then. I'll keep you posted on the process. I can't believe how excited I am. I guess it's the culmination of my training, experience, and education coming together for my writing purposes. Who knows what's behind the door of 2024~
