Miserably Happy

Life seems to always involve a trade. You give up something to get something. Heaven must be the place where you get it all at the same time. Peace of mind, loved ones, beautiful scenery, health, bounty, and acceptance.

On planet earth, it's all about sacrifice and duty. You never get to have it all at once. Or, at least that's been my experience. It's like the movie Sabrina. Harrison Ford (in the most recent version) has to trade his power and position for love. Sadly, he practically had to be forced into it because he couldn't let go of his comfort zone.

That's life, right? Giving to get. To move toward something, it seems you're always leaving something behind. If you're lucky, maybe some of it will catch up with you one day. That's what I'm hoping for! We left our family and predictable, safe lives behind to run down dreams.

I understood that when I was younger and was much more willing to do it. Now, it seems silly. You finally figure out the meaning of life and surround yourself with those who care and then trade it all in for a dream. That type of life is supposed to only be for the young, but here we are. Back to the adage, TIMING IS EVERYTHING. I guess I may as well go for gold and make this move count! Look out writing world...here I come.
