Nestin' to Bestin'

Day after day I'm hating this empty nesting thing. I go to work, I come home, I cry. Rinse and repeat. Today I had an epiphany though. Eat, pray, love. Yep, time to redo me. Deep dive into my soul and find out who I am and what I want my life to look like. It sure as heck ain't this!

As I pondered, I realized the first thing I could do to change up my life was right in front of me all along. Five days a week I drive past Alaqua Animal Refuge, https://alaqua.org/, and ponder what's in there waiting on me. I owe them one, too. Once I had to surrender a sweet dog and they kept him until they found him a farm home.

I decided it was time for payback and to do something that brings me joy...help innocent animals. This weekend I saw a post on social media about a dog they have up for adoption named Aries. He's been with them for over a year. It was the best date ever! I popped in, got some hugs and kisses, donated some new leashes and such, and promised to return. And I will. Because it was just what the doctor ordered. I'm going to keep sampling life and go from empty nestin' to fully bestin'!
