Over the Tree
Yesterday I went for my daily walk in the woods. I followed the meandering path in the isolated area and was surprised when I saw a downed tree.
My first thought was why was it down? Was there a storm I didn't know about? Was it placed there to block the path intentionally? Naturally, my brain was spinning to figure it out. I had to let my good 'ole overthinking take over so I could deduce what I was facing and how to approach it.
As I stepped up to it to investigate, if I didn't want to slow down my walking rhythm, I had to accept I wouldn't know why it was there. But, there were no signs warning folks not to go any futher. In this area, signs would be a requirement. I just stepped up and over and went on with it.
Made me realize that's what life is like. There is always something to block our paths. Some things are intentionally placed there to protect us. Some are the result of natural phenomenon. Either way, we get to choose how to respond. Do we give up and turn around? Or do we step up and step over the obstacle? Some things in life are that ridiculously easy. You analyze, deduce, and respond accordingly.
If you feel like you are getting ready to give up on something ask yourself why. Is it because it would be a safety hazard for you? Or, is it simply an inconvenient obstacle you need to find your way over?
You'll figure it out. You're smart!
