Sugar Shot

I am a straight up sugar addict. I have to avoid even one piece of candy because that leads to another and another and another and so on. Until the bag is empty. Sigh***. But there is one thing that gives me an energy high with no side effects. Creativity!

I just had lunch with a new friend who is learning the art of Quilling. She wants to sell her homemade cards at craft fairs and invited me to write verse for them. I was absolutely elated! Writing for American Greetings was one of the biggest thrills of my life. Collaboration really boosts my creativity and pushes me to the next level.

Now I'm invited to write verse on my terms and I couldn't be happier. A mutual friend connected her and I because we were both the new kids in town. Fast forward three months and I think I found a new bestie. She is out of the box creatively and needs a sidekick. I'm her huckleberry :-)

I can't stress enough how important it is to keep building new friendships. You never know where they'll lead you. Dream on dreamers and step out into something new. You never know what's waiting on that trail for you.
