Swanky Poet

Been outside of the writing box this week and loving it! Two poetry open mic nights back to back.

A friend and I did some comparison shopping, so to speak, and it turned out to be pretty fun. The first mic night was in a smaller ville-type area with your normal working class folks reciting their OWN guttural works with confidence.

The second one was in a bar in a very ritzy, planned seaside community. The diversity between the two was almost humorous. The swanky venue was full of wannabees and make believes reading the work of others. There was some original poetry but most of those were shallow attempts to tout intelligence that left me wanting.

Standby though, we hear the two shall meet and what a match that will be. I feel obligated to serve my curiosity and attend that one because I must know how it turns out. I will definitely keep my

poetry-minded followers updated :-)
