The Big 21

So it begins. 21. What will he do with it? Probably wayyyyyyy more than I did. And I mean that in a good way! This kid has an unselfish heart. A witty tongue. Healing hands. Writing magic. I could not be more proud!

We are in this move together, too. We have creative sessions where he plays and we sing. Or he runs new songs by me. He reads stories he writes. Every time I'm completely blown away by his ability. He has a natural gift for hooking the reader and pulling them in. I've learned so much about my story writing from listening to him.

We bounce ideas off of each other and sharpen our writing skills together. When he was younger, he wouldn't write stories and even if he had, he definitely would not have shared them with me. But that's the way life is. One minute you're doing one thing, the next minute you're doing another.

Best we can do is sharpen our skills and hang on for the ride. I want to enjoy every moment I have of creatively brainstorming with him because one day he will meet a special girl and I will fade into the background. You've got to grab life with both hands and live it to the fullest. No two days are alike and there's always hope around the corner. Cheers! Here's to living life full speed ahead!
