The Power of Everyday

This day started out pretty ugly. Is that an oxymoron? Probably. I digress :-(

Back to the story!

I locked my keys inside the house and myself inside the garage. But once I got on the road to work, everything turned around. I attribute it to making a decision to have a good day.

I prayed and gave my junk to God this morning. I had to. I needed a day off from overthinking and worrying about my looming decisions. Since then, it changed my attitude. In fact, in a daily phone call, one of my friends determined her word of the day was "pompous". So, we tried to find as many ways as possible to use that word in our conversation this morning.

The fun went from there to my fortune extracted from a fortune cookie yesterday. We haggled over the missing words. Believe it or not, it's these things that keep me going. And they keep me out of plaguing thoughts that just steal my joy.

Then, out of the blue, another dear friend sent me a text that simply said, "Even my eggs are rolling their eyes and yelling at me this morning :-)"

Sometimes it's okay to not have things all figured out and to give your brain a break. Some people use puzzles to focus and clear their minds, some use exercise, some use games on their phones it really comes down to whatever works for you.

Someone very famous said that we aren't supposed to worry about tomorrow because today has enough worries on its own. That was Jesus who said that, by the way. And He was right. I just want to get through this day. Like Dom said in the Fast and Furious, "I live my life a quarter mile at a time." Hope you have a fun day, too! Slow down and enjoy the ride.
