Tradition! Love it.

I love to visit people. I definitely like my alone time; however, I have to admit I get a charge out of visiting folks who are overlooked. In that vein, I'm returning home to Indiana today and the reason is two-fold. I get to visit with my grandmother and with my childhood besties.

Picking up a coffee at a familiar spot this morning, I stopped to visit with my new friend Gudrun from Germany. Her knowledge and heritage always energizes me. With my German roots, I like to learn about these people that I've only heard negative about thanks to their terrible alliance with Hitler.

She said that she values tradition and she was raised to bring small flowers when visiting elderly grandparents. She recommended Posies. I love to learn about other cultures and their respect for the elderly.

Now I can go home and visit and share a new culture with my grandmother. She is an avid reader and loves travel. I know this will be a real treat for her and I can't wait to share it with her this afternoon. Hope you find something new and exciting to dive into this weekend as well :-)
