Up Your Game
Due to traveling yesterday, I wasn't able to post. But while driving, I was able to think. I found myself very excited about the book I've been working on. I'm inflating my characters through dialogue and actions, so they won't be flat. It's so fun. That's alongside inputting my new angle.
When I used to lead a writing group, we would have regular writing exercises. I loved those. They really challenge you on the spot. And you learn so much from other writers. That said, my new personal exercise is going to be practicing flash fiction.
Why that? Because I think it can be a mini model of a novel. You have to develop characters and start that arc (taking the protagonist up and down the mountain) really fast. Enough of those and I should be able to have the science, so to speak, of developing a good story down in no time!
Join me in this quest and let me know if you feel good about your story and I'll feature it on my blog. Happy writing and hope to hear from you soon. You got this, I'm your cheerleader. GO! GO! GO!
Sorry for the hokey pic...I try to use my own, that way I don't get into any copyright trouble.
