What's Next?

Until very recently, I didn't realize that I have a standard operating procedure for a breakup. Sadly, I've experienced enough hard hitters that I've had to adapt and overcome. Now I feel I could probably soar through any love loss.


Change of scenery is an oldie but a goodie. Whether it's a trip, several daytrips, or a move, that one seems to work. Going somewhere that I have absolutely no memories of the person who exited my life. A place to make new memories. This is especially fun with friends who will encourage you to move on, there's other fish in the sea, yada yada yada.


Another one is dream chasing. Writing has always been my passion and there is always a waiting venue. I built a business on it after my divorce. I can write sappy love poems pretending I'm writing to the lost love interest. Or, I can write hopeful poems about a future beau.


I also have a son who is a blossoming songwriter I can invest in. Maybe sharpen my savvy business skills and start promoting him. Who knows? That's the great thing about a clean slate, you can draw a new life on it. Just like buying a new notebook. Blank pages and pages of white space to write down anything you want. Starting over and dreaming big. Yeah, that's what I'm focusing on...what's next?
