Write It Out...Cut It Out

Ever needed to "go off" on someone but you knew the repercussions would be disastrous? If so, then never underestimate the power of a word puke! Finally, over the years I've learned to write it out and then cut it out.

There is some kind of emotional surge that happens when you write something down or burn up the keys on your keyboard releasing thoughts. It feels soooooooooo good. It's definitely a purge. Personally, I've written a nastygram (or two, or three, or four...) in the form of an email or text over and over again just to delete it or completely rewrite it!

When I was young, I would have hit "send" and rolled with it. Then I learned the power of the word "send". It can be a relationship buster, job ender, dream killer, etc. You get the picture. As I aged, I got smarter. Yep, bad English but so true. I realized the rush I felt was needed but not the aftereffects of "send".

Hence the idea of a word puke. Vomit out all the nastiness and purge your soul. But don't hit "send"! Or send it to yourself (be sure to double check its destination) because that feels good too. Then once the strong emotion passes, edit, edit, edit or delete altogether. This is wisdom for the ages right here. Learn and earn. Don't send and end. You. Got. This.
